What are you training for?!

This week’s Qi Time chat leads us to talk
about how we can use breath for training.


Are you training to breathe or using your breath to train?


There are two categories I place breathing exercises. It could be the SAME drill but the intention may shift. Are you playing with a drill to improve your breathing patterns? Hoping to breathe more efficiently? Or are you playing with your breathing patterns to improve a motor drill?

 

How can the Lung affect my movement?

 

Your breathing patterns can help you move as you fuel the brain with oxygen. I always encourage my students to practice breathing if they are feeling weaker or stiff during their exercises. Your nervous system may be putting the breaks on knowing that you don’t have sufficient supply of O2 to function properly.

Better breathing = better movement.
