Autumn Qi Chats | Week 1

When the season changes, so do you

This week we discuss how to make big edits in your life. It’s time to do some “Autumn Cleaning” in your life!

We’re so mixed up

Recently I read an article that highlighted how Japanese culture fundamentally supports a healthy lifestyle and mindset. As I was reading this, I looked up at my husband and said “that wild because I feel as Westerners, we’re constantly FIGHTING for health in our culture.”

I’m curious about your thoughts on this…

During the Summer, I was trying to pull some of you back with the insight of burning through our Yang Qi by over stimulating and over exerting ourselves with too much to do. It’s only natural to feel rushed, overly excitable and eager. From the rising Spring energy to the abundance of Summer Qi, we are quick to lose our footing and grasp of the Earth and just float away in the chaos of Summer.

But be mindful, that we need to use each season as a guide and reminder. So this Autumn season, we need to settle into a space where we can feel at ease. But how do we get there?

AUTUMN CLEANING

No more ‘spring cleaning’ in your household - from now and forever onward, every Autumn you’re going to dedicate a weekend to harvesting your life. Both inside the home and in your own person life - how can you pick through what you DON’T need and what you DO need.

Harvesting isn’t about abundance. It’s about picking through. Being selective. Editing.

You too can let go of what you don’t need in your home so you can create a clean and minimal household for the Winter. You can release unnecessary ‘obligations’ because you no longer attach your ego to your value. Clean out the things, chores, tasks, jobs, and junk that you don’t need in your life this Autumn season.

Additional Autumn Tips:

  • Shield yourself from the nightly chill, not good as Wei Qi isn’t as strong at night

  • Move away from vigorous activities, time to move inward

  • Get organized in what you WANT to do and what you CAN do (journaling can help)

Neuro-Qi Tip o’the day!

Black Bag It + Let It Go

  • Take a black plastic bag and try to fill it with as much ‘junk’ as you can this next weekend

  • Let’s give your Qi the insight so the mind makes good decisions and learn the “Letting Go” Lung Qigong sequence that you can incorporate into your morning Autumn practice.
