Spring Qi Chats | Week 12

Do you walk the walk?

This week we discuss the WHY you are training with Bamboo Bodies and what that means in your later seasons of life!

When I am in my winter season…

Our ‘spring season’ of age begins from birth to twenty. We explore and figure out what our movement means to us as social beings. From 20’s to 40’s we’re able to get good in our practice of ‘being’ as we expand our worlds in our ‘summer season’. My fascination is with those who enter their ‘autumn season’ from 40 to 60’s where we can train to live our Second Spring. We can train so our brain, body and mindset are strong. We can train for the unexpected so when we are in our ‘winter season’ we can live our 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with a resilliace and wisdom. Knowing that age is about time and the time we’ve been training our skills, I like to ask “where do you see your abilities in your ‘winter season’?”

Walk the Walk

Bamboo Bodies is not about ‘getting stronger and stronger so you can avoid injury and never feel old’. Yeah.. that’s an unrealistic claim. Because STUFF HAPPENS and when it does, you’re prepared. Sure, you may have avoided injury and illness by training to life healthy through movement, mindset, nutrition and self-care. But what happens when you get sick, injured, diagnosed with a pathology or have to have a surgery. We’re human and life happens. But it’s going to be okay. You’ve been trained in the tools you can always go back to and Bamboo Bodies is here to help remind you that you have these tools!

Neuro-Qi Tip o’the day!

Walk the walk

  • Train how you breathe, everyday play with a new drill

  • Train your mindset. Practice stillness and letting go.

  • Train your digestion, the tongue, the breathe, the stillness in your meals.
