Spring Qi Chats | Week 12

You can never stop moving…

This week we discuss the investment your making currently and what to do when movement get harder due to time.

When I am in my winter season…

Our ‘spring season’ of age begins from birth to twenty. We explore and figure out what our movement means to us as social beings. From 20’s to 40’s we’re able to get good in our practice of ‘being’ as we expand our worlds in our ‘summer season’. My fascination is with those who enter their ‘autumn season’ from 40 to 60’s where we can train to live our Second Spring. We can train so our brain, body and mindset are strong. We can train for the unexpected so when we are in our ‘winter season’ we can live our 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with a resilliace and wisdom. Knowing that age is about time and the time we’ve been training our skills, I like to ask “where do you see your abilities in your ‘winter season’?”

WALK DON’T RUN

Imagine yourself on a sandy hill. You can't just stand still, you'll slide backwards. You don't need to start running upward, you'll get exhausted and won't go far. To move up this sandy hill, you need to take one steady step at a time.

That step forward is Bamboo Bodies.

Yeah, I know I created Bamboo Bodies but it's DANG good (wow, there I go cussing again!) What other movement method out there applies neurology with seasonal movement AND Qigong?! The combination will have GREAT affects on reducing inflammation, improving mental clarity, increasing mobility and strength WHILE helping your digestion and sleep habits as you adjust to the season!!!

Bamboo Bodies is not about ‘getting stronger and stronger so you can avoid injury and never feel old’. That’s an unrealistic claim. Because STUFF HAPPENS and when it does, you’re prepared. Sure, you may have avoided injury and illness by training to life healthy through movement, mindset, nutrition and self-care. But what happens when you get sick, injured, diagnosed with a pathology or have to have a surgery. We’re human and life happens. But it’s going to be okay. You’ve been trained in the tools you can always go back to and Bamboo Bodies is here to help remind you that you have these tools!

Neuro-Qi Tip o’the day!

Do just ONE thing a day…

  • One penny deposit of massaging the body before you get up

  • One penny deposit of ribcage scrub and prime the pump with a LONG exhale (just ONCE!)

  • One penny deposit of 5 minutes of the Bamboo Bodies Neuro-Warm up. Just that warm up!
