Summer Qi Chats | Week 7

Are your shoulders going to last you for a lifetime?

This week we come into the depths of the pits, truly time to massage Ji Quan and make it a practice for every day.

Go where no man/woman has gone before…

Aw the armpit. Literally the name just sounds revolting but I promise it’s a pit that we need to dig into. Every. Single. Day.
You have been overloaded with the plea of “MASSAGE EVERY DAY!” and I hope you venture further than the tops of the shoulder and get into Ji Quan so to massage the heart channel.

Benefits of Ji Quan

This acupressure point is regarded as ‘Supreme Spring’ and has a tendency for Qi to become stagnant in this area. Due to immobility of natural movement, we don’t support the flow of Qi and Qi becomes stuck resulting in shoulder issues. The Heart channel governs the flow of blood and when we can create blockages resulting in stagnant Heart Qi. Heart Qi Stagnation presents itself as tightness in the chest, heart palpitations, emotional sadness and shortness of breath as well as shoulder pain. So… what can we do about it? We get into this natural Prozac acupressure point and dig around!

Neuro-Qi Tip o’the day!

Get in there!

  • Pluck each side 6x-9x to begin

  • Massage the entire armpit (use an oil to help with lymphatic massage)
