Do you train your brain like royalty?

This week we discuss how your brain should be top priority and yet we often ignore the most valuable part of our bodies.


Is your brain warning you?

From a movement perspective, there’s a LOT that we can do to lessen inflammation of the brain and encourage ourselves to TRAIN the brain for better function as we age. But many of us have NO idea what is happening to our cognitive function because we don’t know how to measure it nor understand the ‘warning signs’.

The question “Am I training the brain for longevity or am I quickly de-conditioning myself towards memory loss, motor dysfunction and other neurological diseases?” isn’t the right question for you. Instead there’s a list of questions you can use to check in…

  1. “Am I moving better or worse in the last 6 months? Am I in more pain, feeling less coordination and not as engaged in the movement?”

  2. “Do I get frustrated more often with simple tasks like doing the dishes or going to get the mail? Am I getting confused about the order in which I need to perform a task?”

  3. “Has my health been deteriorating quickly as of late? My hearing and my vision is suddenly declining, I’ve been falling more often, my sense of taste has diminished, I am not as social and I’m not sleeping well nor am I energetic during the day.”

 

Recipe for success?

 

Lessening inflammation is a great start. You can consider your external and internal environment as you can eat differently, not expose yourself to stressful situations on a daily basis and you can also do the best you can for movement to help with digestion, sleep and healing. We need to find the YIN, the parasympathetic state to create new neurological changes in the brain.
