What do you do for foot self-care?
This week we discuss a simply way to directly access your parasympathetic nervous system via your feet!
Step 1: Kick off your shoes!
Take your shoes off and rather than kicking up your feet to relax, let’s learn how stepping in weird things can help your body calm and heal through sensory stimulus. Your feet have a direct connection to the lumbosacral plexus via sensory nerves from L3, L2, L1 and even into the nerve root connection from S1 and S2. Your feet YEARN to feel something. Pressure, vibration (slow and fast) movement, temperature and even sharp/pokey sensations can help awaken the feet.
Rock Mat, baby!
May ask what they can do to help their foot connection (which can lead to a low back resolution in addition to nervous system resolution). Let us step on odd things to awaken our sleepy feet.
