Winter Qi Chats | Week 13

How do you eat?

This week we discuss the HOW behind eating rather than the WHAT…

Bless this food….

We are often told that we need to eat ‘clean’ and ‘healthy’ foods. In fact, there are SO MANY variations of ‘healthy’ that I cannot keep count. Nutrition science changes weekly. Eat this. Don’t eat this. This plant will heal all gut issues. Nope, never mind it can kill you. I may be exaggerating a bit but I feels like we focus nutritional healthy solely on WHAT we eat but rarely on HOW we eat. Ask yourself… have you ever been TRAINED HOW TO EAT?

Table manners aren’t going to apply…

Perhaps you’ve been taught good table manners but aside from how to hold your fork and knife, many of us have no training on how to have a healthy digestion. I would like to go over a few tips today that may seem bizarre but I’d rather look strange before I eat than have my body act strange after I eat because I didn’t eat in a healthy manner.

Preparing your nervous system BEFORE you eat my look a little strange but to your gut, this is much better than what you’ve been doing. Additionally, training the nervous system to digest post meal is also a skill set that we have ignored. General Rule: Less movement before you eat and more movement after you eat. Let’s begin!

Neuro-Qi Tip o’the day!

Train to eat

  • Rest + Digest - let’s tap into the Vagus Nerve as you learn a pre-meal drill and a post meal skill

  • Set the mood. We shouldn’t go to bed angry but we shouldn’t eat angry either
