This week we discuss you may have unknowingly begun to limit your mobility of the shoulder.
Closed off
We don’t often think of how we move reflects how we think but that is exactly what can happen. Playing charades isn’t just a Saturday evening party game, it’s a daily portrayal of WHO WE ARE. My job is to watch people move and I see where Qi is stuck, I spot neurological deficits and bio-mechanical imbalances every day. Not just in my office but at the grocery store, downtown as people walk up and down the streets. That lack of movement closes off a part of who we CAN be mentally, physically and emotionally.
Making the change
You all have a tool. The neural warm up. We don’t often speak about it during our Qi Time chats because we tend to focus on the movement theme each week but I feel it’s important for us to adapt this precious routine to our lives. Notice how you mobilize every (most every) joint of the body? Notice how you raise your hands above your head as you move the ribcage in conjunction with the shoulders?
